Mars Global Surveyor Mars Orbiter Camera Image Gallery
This site contains all of the pictures of Mars acquired by NASA's
Mars Global
Surveyor (MGS) orbiter through February 2003.
MOC is operated daily at Malin Space Science Systems (MSSS). MOC consists of
three cameras: A narrow angle system that provides grayscale high resolution
views of the planet's surface (typically, 1.5 to 12 meters/pixel), and red and
blue wide angle cameras that provide daily global weather monitoring, context
images to determine where the narrow angle views were actually acquired, and
regional coverage to monitor variable surface features such as polar frost and
wind streaks. Most of the high resolution images are obtained by careful
planning and inspection of predicted MGS orbits by Mars scientists working at
and/or visiting MSSS. The company is also responsible for archiving the data
once they are received on Earth.

Kennedy Space Center - Media Archives
This is a hugh gallery of photos and videos of the many different space craft that have flown
out of the cape. This link takes you directly to the MER launch and vehical preperation gallery
but there are many more. When you find one you like, you can choose between small, medium and large.
Watchout! The large images are hugh. If you have the bandwidth and a good printer, you can frame
these shots. They are that good. Take some time and tour the site. I'll definitely be spending some
time here.

Arizona State University - THEMIS Data Release
ASU has a fantastic site that makes available all of the THEMIS Data Release
images. This beautiful presentation makes moving about the planet simple, yet it provides
top rate data. One can gain a great understanding of the planet simply by exploring this site.

USGS - Mars Global Surveyor MOC Images
This site is a little bit difficult to navigate but never the less has a treasure trove
of data. One of the neatest items available here is the Viking context images.
It is a good place for Phobos images.
Beware, most of the hi-res images have north down and south up, some are mirrored. The context
information is approximate, it can be off by more than the width of the image. The red and blue
dots are hi-res images - good stuff. The green and yellow dots are wide angle images and are next
to useless - bad stuff.
