Journey to Mars - Mars Atmospheric Entry
The seven month interplanetary cruise ends with Mars atmospheric entry. The entry into the atmosphere
through touch down is the most dangerous part of the mission. The space craft has to make a rapid series of
maneuvers and at the same time, deal with the heat of entry. The ill fated Mars Polar Lander died in this
phase. We're hoping for better luck (and design) this time.
